KUSA-Wednesday at Cherry Hills Country Club brought the Pro-Am to the golf course. Each professional player was paired with three amateurs in preparation for Thursday's opening round.
The world's top-ranked golfer, Rory McIlroy, currently sits in second place in the Fed Ex Cup standings heading into Thursday and has been the "main celebrity" so far on the grounds.
"Its definitely not an annoyance," said McIroy. "I feel like I've bee in this position for awhile now, that I know how to handle it better. You have to practice, you have to do the things that you always did to get to that point, which was to be the best player in the world. I can't neglect that. So, that's first and foremost. Then, everything else is after that."
McIlroy will be joined by Chris Kirk and Hunter Mahan for the first two rounds of the BMW Championship. Kirk leads in the standings, with McIlroy and Mahan following in second and third, respectively.
