Mountain Vista beat Eaglecrest 65-61 in the 5A Great Eight game Friday night at the Denver Coliseum.

It was a rematch of a Final Four game a year ago that Eaglecrest won handily.

Not this time.

Vista senior Jake Pemberton hit two free throws in the final seconds and Elijah Ross' desperation three fell short as the Golden Eagles advanced to their second straight Final Four. It's also the second trip to the semifinals in school history.

Eaglecrest finishes their season with a (19-7) record.

Mountain Vista was the fourth of four No. 1 seeds in the tournament to advance to the Final Four. They will take their (25-1) record in to a semifinal game against undefeated Fossil Ridge Friday at the Coors Events Center.
