LOVELAND – Claiming their third state title in nine years, the Hi-Plains boys beat Caliche 52-51 on Saturday night for the Class 1A championship.

Avery Marzolf had a game-high 22 points for Hi-Plains, and Justin Miltenberger added 12 (including 7-of-10 from the free-throw line).

Caliche (23-3), which beat defending state champs McClave in Friday's semifinal, was led by Mitch Davison's 19 points.
