Holy Family girls add another state title to their trophy case. KUSA

AIR FORCE ACADEMY - Trailing 23-15 at halftime, the Holy Family girls basketball team rallied in the second half to beat Pagosa Springs 52-45 on Saturday for the Class 3A state title.

The Tigers (26-1) won their sixth state title in the past seven seasons. They trailed 23-15 at halftime but tied the game by the end of the third quarter, then outscored the Pirates 21-14 in the final quarter.

Holy Family secured the win by going 18-of-23 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter. The Tigers' only basket of the final quarter was a 3-pointer by Lindsey Chavez, who finished the game with 19 points (including three 3-pointers). Her sister, Katie, added 15 points (11-of-13 from the line).

Pagosa Springs (25-1) was led by Payton Shanan, who scored 11 of the Pirates' 13 points in the second quarter. She finished the game with 14 points. Taylor Strohecker added 12 points.
