Lutheran leads from start to finish to claim Class 2A girls championship. KOAA

PUEBLO – Lutheran jump to an early lead against Yuma and didn't let up en route to a 47-35 in the girls Class 2A title game Saturday night at CSU-Pueblo.

Lutheran (24-1) lead 10-3 early in the first quarter and upped it to 22-13 by halftime. Kristen Vigil, who led the Lions with 10 points, hit a 3-pointer for a 23-17 lead late in the third quarter. Chandler Sturms also had 10 points for Lutheran.

Yuma, which also lost in last year's state championship game, last won the title in 1997.
