DENVER - The Denver East Angels and Colorado Academy Mustangs battled on Friday night with the Mustangs holding on for an 8-6 victory.

The Mustangs were in control early up 4-1 with 2:57 left in the first half. The Angels scored the next two goals to get within one early in the third quarter. The Mustangs had a three point lead with 7:36 left in the fourth when the Angels again scored two in a row to get within one. Good defense and another goal by Jack Thomas would secure the win for the Mustangs.

Colorado Academy improves to 8-3 on the season while East drops to 6-7.
