LAKEWOOD - Wheat Ridge won their seventh straight game and took control over the top spot in the Jefferson County league standings with a 2-1 victory over Evergreen.

Wheat Ridge scored their first goal of the game early in the second half when Alexandra Nillen scored on a free kick from twenty five yards out, but just four minutes later Evergreen tied things up on a goal by Zoe Peterson.

The farmers scored the game winning goal shortly after when Nillen put a great ball in front of the net and Carlee Flanagan finished it off to secure the victory.

With the win, Wheat Ridge improves to 9-2 on the season and will face Silver Creek on Monday at 4 p.m., while Evergreen (6-3-2) will play Conifer Tuesday at 5 p.m.
