Rockies outfielder Michael Cuddyer left their spring training game Wednesday after being hit by a pitch in the third inning.

The National League batting champion from last year was replaced by a pinch runner for precautionary reasons. According to the Denver Post, he was struck in the shoulder with the off-speed pitch and will likely be examined to determine the extent of the injury. It doesn't appear to be serious.

Cuddyer recorded a .331 batting average to go along with 20 home runs and 84 runs batted in last season.
