Charlie Blackmon went 6-for-6 at the plate on Friday and now he's 1-for-1 on National League Player of the Week honors this season.

Blackmon earned the recognition alongside Marlins starting pitcher Jose Fernandez.

The Rockies outfielder led the major leagues in hitting over the course of last week. He average .542 (13-for-24) in the first seven games of the regular season. The week was highlighted as Blackmon tied a Colorado franchise record with six hits in their home opener against the Diamondbacks.

It was the second time in his career that he was named NL player of the week.
