Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki will miss Saturday's game against the Giants with an injury sustained the previous night in his last at-bat.
The much-maligned All-Star had X-Rays had X-Rays taken shortly after the injury, with all scans being negative. Manager Walt Weiss told reporters Tulo has suffered a sprained toe.
Following a ninth-inning single, the Rockies shortstop limped to the dugout after reaching first base and did not return for the bottom half of the inning. Utility infielder Josh Rutledge will take Tulowitzki's spot in the lineup on Saturday.
As things stand on Saturday, Tulowitzki is batting .356 with 17 home runs, and slugging .662 in 2014. He leads all National League players in All-Star votes.
