He may be in the visitor's locker room but this will always be home for Chauncey Billups.

The George Washington High School graduate and former Colorado Buffalo won't see any action against the Nuggets Wednesday night – he's still recovering from a knee surgery several weeks ago – but any return trip to Denver is always a satisfying feeling. He got to see his family and friends and could do "all the good stuff" like taking his daughters to school.

Billups may soon come back for good but he really doesn't want to talk about retirement just yet.

"It's all kind of the same for me. You're right, you never know when it's going to be over," the current Detroit Pistons point guard said following shoot around. Billups asserted he really isn't thinking about walking away from game even has he struggles to stay healthy in his 16th year in the National Basketball Association.

"It's not sentimental at all. It's always fun to come back," he continued.

Billups is a decade removed from his lone NBA championship which includes a finals most valuable player award. The years, teams and injuries are starting to add up against the Park Hill native. He's been able to play in just 61 games over the past three seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers and Pistons.

"You always want to go out on your own, you don't want to be forced out with an injury," Billups said of the final years of his career. "I would like to walk out and not have to crawl out."

Billups has also been able to keep an eye on his alma mater as they make their way to the NCAA Tournament.

"I'm so proud of Tad [Boyle] and what he's been able to do as far as getting that program back on a national scene. It's even better than when I was there," he said.

The former Buff played was only able to play in a single tournament himself – and advanced to just the second round.

He didn't hesitate when asked if CU would be victorious on Thursday against Pittsburgh. His brother, Rodney, is an assistant coach under Boyle and has been passing along the Panthers scouting report in the past few days.
