Dikembe Mutombo waves that big right index finger, signaling 'No, no, no!' And every time he does it the fans in Denver still say 'Yes, yes, yes!'

"It's amazing that you leave the game and 20-some years later you come to the stadium, you still have the same loyal fans who have watched you over those years and still here, who still love you and wish you were playing," the former Nuggets center said.

The Mutombo led-squad in 1994 became the first No. 8 seed in the NBA playoffs to topple a No. 1 seed. They were honored at halftime of the Nuggets game Monday night as the team sported their navy blue uniforms against the Clippers.

Many of the players on the current roster were likely to young to truly understand the ramifications of that upset on the Denver franchise, but they were honored nonetheless to host that team.

"That was great," Mutombo asserted with his genuine and giant smile on his face. "I got a chance to meet so many of them during the reception and I'm looking forward to meeting more of them again."
