Thanks to a pair of Denver hat tricks, the No.3 ranked DU Pioneers beat Providence 14-6 in Rhode Island Saturday morning. Juniors Erik Adamson and Wes Berg each posted four goals, while senior Jeremy Noble finished with four assists. The win puts the Pioneers at 5-0 in Big East play and 11-2 on the season.

"Providence gave us all we could handle in the first half," head coach Bill Tierney told DenverPioneers.com. "We knew it would be a tough game on the road up here and we knew they'd be motivated because it was their senior day. I thought in the second half we played really well. We shot the ball a lot better and we were able to capitalize off those shots."

Fort Collins native Ryan LaPlante made six saves in goal during the first half, while senior Jamie Faus made three saves in the second half.

The Pioneers will return home on Saturday, April 26th, at 12:00pm MT to face Marquette. The game will mark the end of the regular season for the Pioneers before they head to Villanova for the Big East Tournament on May 1.
