KUSA - Three-time Super Bowl champ and former Denver Broncos star wide receiver Ed McCaffrey began coaching youth football camps in the summer of 2000.

In 2011, he founded SportsEddy, which includes not just football but lacrosse, soccer, baseball and basketball camps.

The Ed McCaffrey "Dare to Play" Football Camp and the "Dare to Cheer" Cheerleading camp for individuals with Down syndrome are produced in partnership with the Global Down Syndrome Foundation. The camp has been a success for the past four years and continues to take place at Valor High School.

In addition to practicing and playing football, the Valor football team students team up with the camp participants and create a bond. Despite working at Global so many years it is still surprising to see how what people call "typical" students can make a difference in the lives of our kids with Down syndrome. It's of course the Valor values, but it's also the kind of impact individuals with Down syndrome have on their peers.

In addition, the Junior Broncos Cheerleaders have also teamed up with Global Down Syndrome Foundation and are providing training for individuals with Down syndrome. They will practice and get to perform either at half time or at the beginning of the games. The schedule as an FYI is attached.
