DENVER - Denver doesn't just have a waterfall in a Mexican restaurant. It also has one in the parking lot of Sports Authority Field… sort of.
A soothing body of water is one of the many features in Billy Burt's tailgating set-up, which includes seating for 18 people with long-stemmed wine glasses, glass plates, silverware and salt and pepper shakers, ample shade, plants, plenty of Broncos memorabilia and a grill loaded with enough t-bone steaks to feed a small army.
"A lot of people like fly-fishing…we like tailgating," he said.
It's something that the Fort Collins resident is very, very good at.
It all started when a friend put his name on the waiting list for season tickets. It took 10 years for Burt to be picked, but once it was -- in 1977 -- he started tailgating with a pick-up truck.
In the time since, that pick-up truck been replaced by an RV. And that RV has become surrounded with everything from plants to tons of Broncos memorabilia to plenty of shaded seating.
"When people say 'what do you want for your birthday, your Christmas present,' we say 'anything that looks better than this!'" Burt said.
He'll be back for as many games as possible this season, and he says his tailgate is only going to get better.
"We just build on it," he said.
