We all know that Peyton Manning makes the Broncos go. Fans are hoping he takes Denver to the Super Bowl this year, but this afternoon, "Brock Osweiler appreciation month" will continue for at least one half of football.

Osweiler was 6/12 for 85 yards in last's week's preseason debut against Seattle. His 34-yard passing touchdown to Jordan Norwood was the Broncos loan six-point score through the air.

The receiver out of Penn State, finished with 51 receiving yards on three catches. Look for him to see significant time today against the 49ers, as he continues to battle against the likes of Demaryious Thomas, Wes Welker, Andre Caldwell and Emmanuel Sanders for a roster spot.

Possibly the most intriguing group to pay attention to this afternoon for the Broncos is the stable of runningbacks. Ronnie Hillman started last week with the absence of Montee Ball, who is missing the entire preseason recovering from an emergency appendectomy. The San Diego St. product carried the ball six times for just 15 yards, but did manage to find the endzone for the first score of the game.

Rookie Juwan Thompson led the Broncos in rushing, amassing 59 yards on six carries. Expect undrafted rookie Kapri Bibbs out of Colorado St. to also see significant time in the rotation, with C.J. Anderson still coming off of a concussion.

It is still unclear how long the starters will be left in the game after halftime.

On the other side, Colin Kaepernick completed the only pass he attempted in the 49ers preseason opener against the Ravens, before giving way to Blaine Gabbert.

Expect Kaepernick to see an increase roll this afternoon, now two weeks out from the start of the regular season.
