KUSA - The Avalanche needed another comeback to advance. They had 59 minutes and 11 seconds to do it - but it didn't happen.

In the first period, Minnesota's Zach Parise scored just 49 seconds into Game 6 against Colorado. The Wild would extend their lead but Paul Stastny scored a shorthanded goal near the end of the first period to tighten the margin.

Nick Holden scored the lone goal in the second period - and Matt Duchene recorded his first assist in his first game back since injuring his medial collateral ligament on March 29.

Minnesota leads 2-2 after two periods of play.

With a win, the Avalanche would clinch the series and advance to play the Chicago Blackhawks next.
