SAINT PAUL, Minn. - No celebration. Not yet anyway for the Colorado Avalanche.

It's another loss for the Avs in Saint Paul but this one takes their Western Conference quarterfinal to a decisive seventh game.

"It's going to be fun. It's do or die for both teams now," said Avalanche right winger P.A. Parenteau. "We're ready to go, we have a lot of character on this team and we showed it tonight and if this is what it's going to take we're up for it."

"We feel good, and game 7, that's what you dream about and when you play street hockey back home everybody dreams about game 7 in the playoffs," said Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog. "We're looking forward to it and we're confident at home but at the same time and I still feel like we haven't played our best game yet."

The Avs sure were comfortable in their locker room after the game 6 loss. Perhaps it's because they haven't lost at home this series or maybe it's the return of leading scorer Matt Duchene that has them feeling good about game 7.

"I went four weeks with out a game and jumped in to game 6. It's not easy on the road," said Duchene. "It was tough mentally and something I have to battle through. It's more of a mental battle then a physical one."

Duchene played nearly 19 minutes in his return from a knee injury that had him sidelined since March 29. He notched an assist on Nick Holden's 2nd period goal.

"It went probably about as well as I expected it to go," said Duchene, "there's a long way to go for me and I got to find it quick for game 7."

Colorado is 4-5 all-time in playoff game sevens. The last time they played in one was in 2003 against, of course, Minnesota. Andrew Brunette scored on Patrick Roy in overtime to lift the Wild over the Avalanche. It was the last game Roy ever played in.
