ENGLEWOOD - A single vehicle crash in Englewood took out part of a sound-barrier wall early Friday morning.

A white SUV was headed northbound on South Santa Fe Drive when the vehicle hit a sign at West Dartmouth Avenue, according to Englewood Police.

The SUV then crossed into the southbound lanes, hit a tree and then crashed through a sound-barrier wall.

The driver had serious injuries and was taken to Swedish Medical Center.

Police said speed was a factor in the crash that seriously injured the driver. 9NEWS at 6 a.m. 06/13/14.

Police are investigating to see if alcohol was involved or if the driver had a medical issue.

Officers did tell 9NEWS that speed was likely a factor in the crash.
