Motorists, who rely on 1-25, should expect construction delays for the next two years between County Line and Lincoln.
KUSA - Expect delays and lane closures for the next two years on Interstate 25 between County Line Road and Lincoln Avenue.
The majority of the closures will happen between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. on weekdays, Colorado Department of Transportation Spokesperson Emily Wilfong said.
The goal right now is to keep at least three lanes open at any given time, Wilfong said.
"The ultimate goal is to add an additional lane in either direction," Wilfong said. "So it's just going to increase mobility in an area where traffic can easily get bottlenecked."
CDOT has already reduced the speed limit in the southbound lanes from 65 to 55 miles per hour, and they will reduce the speed in the northbound lanes in the next two weeks.
The project is expected to be complete in December 2016
