Colorado Sprint customers affected by outage

DENVER - Several Colorado Sprint customers experienced problems with their service Friday morning, ranging from data or voice outages to complete blackouts.

According to the website, Sprint customers began reporting issues around 1:55 a.m. Friday.

A representative for Sprint said there was scheduled maintenance in Colorado between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. that impacted wireless voice and data. The representative said impacted customers should have had a full return to service by 5 a.m.

According to, recent reports from customers experiencing issues with their Sprint service have mainly originated from Denver, Colorado Springs, Aurora, Commerce City, Pueblo, Grand Junction, Littleton, San Francisco, Arvada, and Parker.

9NEWS spoke to a Customer Service representative who did not have information about what was causing the outage or when service would be restored. is a website that collects and analyzes reports from various sources to automatically determine large scale outages and service interruptions.

"Our system detects outages when the number of reports shows a significant jump relative to the baseline. We track reports for each company on a separate page and will publish a brief update once an issue is determined. Older reports are available through the archive link or the Problems overview," according to the website's about us section.

9NEWS has asked Sprint to comment on the outage. At the time this article was written Sprint has not responded to our request.
