FEDERAL HEIGHTS - Two people who were ejected from a vehicle in a three-car crash near West 84th Avenue and Pecos Street Sunday evening have critical life-threatening injuries, according to Federal Heights Police.
Three other people were taken to the hospital but are expected to survive.
The crash was reported just before 5:30 p.m. Police say it started when a white Acura Integra with two people inside sped down 84th. The driver lost control of the vehicle as it turned north onto Pecos, and crossed into incoming traffic, police say.
The Acura hit a Rodeo Isuzu head-on. A Honda Pilot then crashed into the Isuzu.
Both of the people inside the Acura were ejected. They were critically injured.
The people driving the Isuzu and the Pilot were also injured, as well as another passenger.
Traffic on Pecos Street was diverted in both directions during the accident investigation.
Federal Heights Police say excessive speed and alcohol appear to be contributing factors in the crash.
