KUSA - A two-vehicle crash involving a sedan and a large truck resulted in a diesel spill and closed westbound Interstate 70 Monday morning.
Colorado State Patrol couldn’t estimate how many gallons of gas spilled on the highway. Authorities did say to expect a long closure for cleanup and the investigation.
The person driving the sedan had to be extricated from the vehicle. There’s no word yet on his or her condition.
The Colorado Department of Transportation closed westbound I-70 at Lookout Mountain. Traffic was detoured onto US 40.
According to traffic cameras in the area, at least part of the highway has reopened.
