Here's RTD's backup plan if federal officials halt the airport train

If federal railroad regulators force the halt of RTD’s A Line to the airport due to malfunctioning crossing gates, the mass transit agency has prepared plans to use buses to carry passengers along the line.

The University of Colorado A Line has operated under a temporary waiver from the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) since it opened on April 22. The waiver is set to expire on Nov. 5, three weeks later than an earlier deadline that was extended by the FRA.
