Tonight: Scattered showers are possible this evening and a few thunderstorms could also develop. The chance for rain will continue through the overnight with lows near 40 degrees.
Heavy rain, frequent lightning, and hail up to one inch in diameter could occur on the Eastern Plains this evening. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH has been issued until 9 p.m. for Sedgwick, Phillips, Yuma, Kit Carson, Washington, and Logan Counties.
As temperatures dip into the 30s above 7,000 feet, the rain will change to snow for some foothill locations. A few inches of accumulation could occur over the higher foothills and in the mountains. Most mountain accumulation will be limited to grassy surfaces, rooftops, and vehicles. Roads are now too warm in the high country to allow for much accumulation.
