KUSA - Although Labor Day is upon us, the summer temperatures will return for the holiday weekend.
Normal temperatures are in the low 80s, but temperatures through Monday will be in the upper 80s and 90s.
Skies on Saturday will be partly cloudy with a chance for storms. Storms will develop in the High Country first, and then move into eastern Colorado in the afternoon. A few storms could turn severe with large hail, gusty winds, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. Storms on the Plains could last into the early evening.
After a cloudy start on Sunday, skies will gradually turn sunny with highs in the low 90s. Winds are expected to increase through the afternoon elevating fire danger. Isolated storms are still possible over higher elevations.
The drier weather pattern will continue through Labor Day. As of now, temperatures will be in the upper 80s for Monday with mostly sunny skies. A cold front arrives by Tuesday and rain chances will increase for the middle of the week.
The 9News Weather Team wishes you a happy and safe Labor Day weekend.
