Dan Grossman joined the 9NEWS family in March 2016 as the Northern Newsroom Reporter based in the newsroom of the Fort Collins Coloradoan and is honored to call the talented and acclaimed journalists at 9NEWS coworkers.
Prior to coming to Colorado, Dan was a general assignment reporter for KTHV-TV in Little Rock, Ark. and TV3 Winchester in Winchester, Va. While in Arkansas, Dan was the first reporter to go live in the aftermath of an April 2014 tornado which tragically killed 16 people. He also led coverage of the disappearance and murder of local realtor Beverly Carter, which garnered national attention.
Dan's journey in journalism tracks back to a conversation he had with his dad, a former journalist himself, in 2007. He was talking about a bank robbery he covered in Washington DC in the 80s and kept stuttering from excitement as he relived the thrill of breaking news. It was at that moment Dan typed 'good journalism schools' into Google and the rest is history.
Dan graduated with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University in 2013 and is a proud, yet overly-optimistic supporter of the Orange.
Dan was raised along the sandy shores of southern New Jersey. Contrary to popular belief, it's nothing like the MTV show. He's ecstatic to call the snow-capped Rocky Mountains his home but will certainly miss the salty seas.
If he's not one-man-banding his stories you can find Dan soaking up as much of the mile-high sun as possible. He loves being outdoors and exploring every inch of the beautiful state of Colorado, especially the mountains.
If you have a neat story idea Dan would love to tell it. There's no greater privilege than being allowed into someone else's world, if only for a few hours, and telling their story. It's a responsibility Dan takes seriously and will always be grateful for. He can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
