Chatfield State Park and Cherry Creek State Park will open to boating on Saturday, March 10.
Boating will begin at Boyd Lake State Park in Loveland on Friday, March 9.
There is also a possibility that both lakes could open before Saturday, so visitors should monitor the condition pages at CPW.State.CO.US.
"We were well on our way to meeting our goal of opening March 1st, but the latest wave of cold weather put on a lot of ice. We're finally ice-free and have our primary safety buoys out," says Kris Wahlers, assistant park manager at Chatfield State Park, in a news release.
At Chatfield State Park, only the easternmost ramps near the marina will be open until April. Boaters will need to use the east entrance from Titan and Roxborough Park Road. The boat ramps at Chatfield will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., 7 days a week.
At Cherry Creek State Park, the west boat ramp is closed for construction. Boaters can reach the east boat ramp from Lehigh Ave. and Parker Road. The east ramp will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., 7 days a week.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife reminds boaters that all motorized and/or trailed vessels are required to have an inspection for Aquatic Nusiance Species before launch. For more information, visit CPW.State.CO.US.
