DENVER — Greg Perez is a Meteorologist at 9NEWS in Denver, Colorado.

Greg joined the 9NEWS weather team in August of 2022 as the Weekend Morning and the Midday Meteorologist.

He became interested in Meteorology in Elementary School, where he was able to cover local weather over the loudspeaker. Greg graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Meteorology, and had the opportunity to intern at WNBC Storm Team 4 in New York City for two summers.

After graduating, Greg took a Chief Meteorologist position in Great Falls, Montana. During his time in Great Falls, Greg had the incredible experience of reporting everything from severe summer thunderstorms to minus sixty below wind chills. He then moved to Spokane, Washington to become the Weekend Meteorologist at KHQ Local News.

Most recently, Greg was the Weekday Meteorologist at FOX43 serving Harrisburg, PA. There he won a Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters award for his coverage of Hurricane Ida.

Originally from New Jersey where his family still lives, Greg is very close with his three sisters and parents! He is new to Denver and is super excited to check out some of Colorado’s natural beauty and get outdoors.

In his free time, Greg can be found rooting for his Virginia Tech Hokies, playing some golf, skiing, and of course, traveling! If you see him out and about give him a “Go Hokies”!
