DENVER — Matt Jablow is an investigative reporter covering crime and justice issues for 9Wants to Know, 9NEWS' Investigative Unit, in Denver, Colorado.
He was a reporter at 9NEWS for two years in the late 1990s and rejoined the station in October 2020 after a 21-year absence.
9NEWS human resources experts are now researching whether that’s the longest gap between stints in the station’s storied history.
Matt has also worked as a reporter and anchor at stations in New York, Houston, Baltimore and Washington, D.C. In addition, he was a producer for the television show "America’s Most Wanted."
Prior to returning to Denver, Matt was the head of public information at the Baltimore Police Department, a position he held for a total of six years, from 2003-2007 and then again from 2018-2020. (As you can probably tell from his employment pattern, Matt does not believe in burning bridges.)
Matt has been the recipient of numerous journalism awards, including two Emmys for stories he covered in New York.
He is the proud father of two (mostly) grown children, one of whom is a teacher here in Denver.
