She supports and teaches others to tell stories using multiple platforms by focusing on how people engage with content on all screens. She is always looking for multiplatform producers and journalists interested in learning about 9NEWS.

She received an EMMY for Interactivity in 2013 for her work producing Social TV which brought community members, experts, and parents together for a live #SafeKids chat that was integrated into a live newscast.

Misty started her professional career at KCNC-TV in October of 2000. There she received her first regional EMMY for contributions made during breaking news coverage as an Assignment Editor. She successfully integrated the position on the news desk with social networks and is always looking for that next step, the next Internet tool, to stay relevant as a journalist.

She is a native of Nebraska who proudly cheers for the Nebraska Huskers. She received a B.A. in Media Communication from Hastings College, NE.

She often asks, "why not?" Instead of "why." She's not afraid of trying and failing. She appreciates her colleagues for continually changing strategy to try something new or different. She promises she won't let them fail horribly.
