Rod Mackey is the Sports Director at 9NEWS in Denver, Colorado.
Rod joined 9NEWS in October of 2000.
Rod grew up in Colorado and graduated from CU. He began his broadcasting career at KSKE Radio in Vail. Rod's first television job was as the weekend sports anchor/reporter at KEVN-TV in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Two years later he left for KGAN-TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he worked for five years.
Rod's final stop before Denver was at KUSI-TV in San Diego, California.
Rod loves skiing, both water and snow. He also enjoys playing tennis, hockey, and running. Rod is married with three children and an Old English Sheepdog.
