Meghan Markle is back Stateside!
A royal source tells ET that the Duchess of Sussex is in New York City until mid-week, to see friends who are throwing her a baby shower. Around 10 to 15 of the royal's closest pals are expected to attend the celebration, which is taking place on Tuesday, according to the source.
"She's been in town relaxing and buying baby clothes," the insider says. "This will be the last time to see many of her friends before the baby is born."
According to multiple reports, Markle touched down on Friday, marking her first trip to the Big Apple since her royal wedding to Prince Harry last May.
Sources told Harper’s Bazaar that Markle, who is expecting her first child in coming months, is spending five nights catching up with pals ahead of Baby Sussex’s birth.
She is said to have spent Saturday enjoying tea and macaroons at Laduree in SoHo with stylist, Jessica Mulroney.
“The trip is a lovely chance to catch up with friends and spend time in a city she loves,” one source told the outlet. "This will be the last time a lot of them will see Meg until after the baby is born, so it’s nice to share precious moments."
"It’s been a relaxing visit,” added another source. “Nothing beats face time with your friends. Meg will be flying home refreshed and relaxed -- and with a lot of new baby clothes."
Later in the week, Markle is scheduled to join Prince Harry on an official two-day engagement in North Africa, which is expected to be her last overseas trip before giving birth.
“The Duke and Duchess are looking forward to the visit which will highlight the vital roles that girls’ education and youth empowerment are playing in, and shaping, modern Morocco," a spokesperson for Buckingham Palace said.
As for how her pregnancy is going, a source close to Markle tells ET that "she’s feeling wonderful and they are both so excited about the baby."
"She’ll be an amazing mother. I've seen her with the other kids of our friends," the source says. "She has such a special close relationships with a lot of our children. I think she'll be a natural mother. She is just so kind and caring."
Dad-to-be Prince Harry is also head-over-heels for his new wife. "The way Harry looks at her, it’s just so loving," the source adds. "You want the husband of your best friend to adore her, to look at her that way. It's just really lovely."
