Bluey’s Big Play

DENVER — One of Australia's hottest exports is doing a walkabout through America. The first-ever theatrical adaptation of the popular animated children’s TV show “Bluey” will stop at Pueblo's Memorial Hall on Thursday, March 2, and the Buell Theatre in Denver on Saturday, March 4, and Sunday, March 5. “Bluey,” which centers on an a 6-year-old Blue Heeler pup, her sister Bingo, and their parents Chilli and Bandit, has in just a few years grown into a worldwide phenomenon.

Colorado Rapids vs. Sporting Kansas City

COMMERCE CITY — The Colorado Rapids will host regional rivals Sporting Kansas City on Saturday, March 4, in their first home game of the 2023 MLS season. Tickets start at $20 at Ticketmaster.com.

The Rapids have a new secondary jersey for the 2023 season. The "New Day" jersey features a bright, geometric design inspired by Colorado's sunrises and sunsets. Co-designed by Denver-based artist Pat Milbery, the kit has a street art style with a geometric heart on the lower left front and a sunset icon on the back neck.

Denver Polar Plunge & 5K

DENVER — Embrace winter this weekend by jumping into brisk water at Denver’s Wash Park. Denver Polar Plunge & 5K on Sunday, March 5, features a splash and a dash — participants can do one or both. Following the water activities, the After Splash Bash will reward participants with drink tickets and food. Proceeds from the 5K and plunge benefit Special Olympics Colorado. Leadville Ski Joring

LEADVILLE — The Leadville Ski Joring and Crystal Carnival is a weekend of mountain bike and Nordic ski races, paintball biathlon and plenty of winter fun. The Leadville Ski Joring involves a horse and rider racing down Leadville’s Harrison Avenue, pulling a skier holding a rope. Other events this weekend include skiing, fat tire bike ride and more. First Friday Rail Jam

SILVERTHORNE — The 6th annual First Friday Rail Jam is Friday, March 3, from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the Silverthorne Performing Arts Center. More than 100 athletes will compete for cash prizes in four categories: women's ski, women's snowboard, men's ski, and men's snowboard. There will be live music from Frisco Funk Collective, live art from Andy Moran and food from Fritangas and Colorado Marketplace and Bakery. Check out the full schedule at Silverthorne.org.

Red Bull Slide-In Tour 

COPPER MOUNTAIN — The Red Bull Slide-In Tour makes its Copper Mountain debut on Friday, March 3, through Sunday, March 5. The tour is an opportunity for snowboarders to come together in a format other than competitions. X Games gold medalist Zeb Powell will be joined by five other professional snowboarders to celebrate snowboard culture and increase accessibility to the sport.

“The tour is where we can be our most creative selves,” Powell said. “There is no risk to throw crazy tricks or try something new since it’s not a competition. When we are all together, we also come up with things that we wouldn’t come up with on our own.”

Jane-A-Thon

WINTER PARK — The longest running, true-to-Colorado ski and snowboard fundraising event Jane-A-Thon will be held Friday, March 3, and Saturday, March 4. The 24th annual Jane-A-Thon is a ski/snowboard fundraiser that benefits Invest in Kids to improve the health and well-being of vulnerable young children and parents in Colorado. This weekend's event will include skiing and après ski party.

WinterWonderGrass

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — The 10th annual WinterWonderGrass Festival arrives this weekend with live music, beer halls and beer tastings, coffee bar, kids zone, food trucks and more. The three-day festival kicks off Friday, March 3, and continues into Sunday, March 5. This year's concert lineup features Greensky Bluegrass, The Infamous Stringdusters, Leftover Salmon, Paul Cauthen, Kitchen Dwellers, The Lil Smokies, The Lone Bellow, Neal Francis, Trout Steak Revival and more. Check out the full festival lineup at WinterWonderGrass.com.

That Dam Run 13.1 Half Marathon, 10K, 5K

GREENWOOD VILLAGE — The Cherry Creek Dam Road is the site of Sunday’s That Dam Run 13.1 Half Marathon, 10K and 5K. All three races begin between 8 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. at Cherry Creek Dam Road and South Dayton Street. Participants receive an official short sleeve shirt, free photos with Justin Beaver, finisher’s medal and after-party event access. That Dam Run registration can be completed online.

Jo Koy

DENVER — Comedian Jo Koy is hitting the road in 2023 for the "Jo Koy World Tour." The tour will make a stop at Ball Arena in Denver on Saturday, March 4. Tickets start at $48 at Ticketmaster.com. Last year, Koy recently released the film "Easter Sunday" and the Netflix special "Jo Koy: Live From The Los Angeles Forum."

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band

DENVER — The Boss is hitting the road in 2023 and he won't be going alone. Bruce Springsteen is on tour with The E Street Band. The tour makes a stop at Ball Arena on Thursday, March 2.  The shows mark Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band's first tour dates since February 2017 and their first in North America since September 2016.

Northern Colorado Home and Garden Show

GREELEY — The Greeley Tribune Northern Colorado Home & Garden Show runs Friday, March 3, through Sunday, March 5. The show is northern Colorado’s oldest home and garden show. With over more than 150 vendors, food trucks, and two full exhibition halls, this event is not one to miss as you get prepared for spring and summer. The show opens Friday at 12 p.m. at Island Grove Event Center and Exhibition Hall.

Jurassic Quest

COLORADO SPRINGS — Jurassic Quest, America’s largest and most realistic dinosaur event, comes to the Colorado Springs Event Center beginning Friday, March 3. Guests will walk through the Cretaceous, Jurassic and Triassic periods with true-to-life-size dinosaurs, from the very small to gigantic. Jurassic Quest has over 80 dinosaurs that roar, move and some even walk around. The event also offers a dinosaur petting zoo, dino science stations, fossil area, dinosaur rides, photo ops and more. Die tote Stadt

DENVER — Opera Colorado continues its season with a new production of Korngold’s "Die tote Stadt (The Dead City)," at Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Performances are planned Friday, March 3, and Sunday, March 5. This will be Opera Colorado’s first production of "Die tote Stadt," an opera that fell out of sight during World War II and is rarely performed because of the uniquely challenging score and lead roles. Denver Nuggets vs. Memphis Grizzlies

DENVER — It's a battle of the top two teams in the NBA's Western Conference! The Denver Nuggets and Memphis Grizzlies battle in an NBA primetime game Friday at Ball Arena. As Nikola Jokic aims for a third-straight MVP award and the Nuggets look to seize the top playoff seed, the Nuggets and Grizzlies tip off at 8 p.m. Friday, March 3. Colorado Avalanche vs. Seattle Kraken

DENVER — The Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche begin a four-game home stand in Denver this weekend. The Avs host the Seattle Kraken at Ball Arena at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 5. Tickets start at $47 at Ticketmaster.com.

Colorado Eagles vs. Calgary Wranglers

LOVELAND — The Colorado Eagles — the AHL-affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche — play two games against the Calgary Wranglers this weekend at Budweiser Events Center. The Eagles and Wranglers meet at 7:05 p.m. Friday, March 3, and Saturday, March 4, in Loveland. Friday's game has a team poster giveaway and Saturday is Pot of Gold Night. Disney Animation Immersive Experience

DENVER — The creators of the popular "Immersive Van Gogh" have teamed with Disney for a new immersive experience at Lighthouse ArtSpace Denver at 3900 Elati Street. "Disney Animation: Immersive Experience" uses projection technology to allow audiences to feel like they’ve entered the worlds of Disney characters through music and artistry. "Encanto," "Zootopia," "Frozen," "The Lion King," "Peter Pan" and "Pinocchio" are among the animated movies featured. Tickets are on sale at DisneyImmersive.com.

Hotter Than Egypt

DENVER — "Hotter Than Egypt" is the newest production from Denver Center for the Performing Arts. Hailed as an audience favorite at the 2020 Colorado New Play Summit, "Hotter Than Egypt" is the tale of a couple's own personal revolutions. For a middle-aged American couple traveling to Egypt on a business trip-slash-vacation, their relationship is put to the test when an old connection leads to new temptation. Boulder International Film Festival

BOULDER — Boulder International Film Festival runs Thursday, March 2, through Sunday, March 5. Academy Award-winning actor F. Murray Abraham will appear at the festival on Saturday, March 4. Abraham will receive the Festival’s Outstanding Performer of the Year award for "The White Lotus." Abraham will be presented with the award at the Boulder Theater Saturday at 5:45 p.m., followed by an interview. Tickets for the festival and Abraham’s appearance at the festival are on sale for $20 at biff1.com.
