Scenic Monte Vista is the site of the annual Potato Festival. The event is a fun day of activities that celebrates the harvest of Colorado Potatoes in the San Luis Valley. Saturday's Potato Festival includes food and craft vendors, a farm and field show, truck and semi truck show, kid's games, human hamster balls, mashed potato dunk tank, archery demonstrations and more. The 5K Spud Run and Walk will start at 8 a.m. Octane Addictions will present a family-friendly motosport freestyle show, with X-Game riders Nate Adams, Willie Elam, Kyle Demelo, Josh Penner and James Carter, at 6 p.m. Show tickets are available online.

The two events in one day, hosted by the Town of Mead, Mead Area Rotary Club, Mead Area Community Foundation and Mountain View Fire Rescue, are meant to bring together tradition and community. From 2 to 9:30 p.m. there will be vendor booths, kids' activities, a beer garden, corn hole tournament, cow pie bingo, live music and more. Kiowa County Fair and Rodeo — Eads

The Kiowa County Fair and Rodeo opened on Wednesday at the Kiowa County Fairgrounds, but there are lots of events scheduled through Sunday. Poultry, rabbit, goat, beer, swine, 4-H and FFA events begin the fair before two CPRA Rodeos on Friday and Saturday. The Kiowa County Fair Parade steps off at 10 a.m. Saturday morning on Maine Street. Horse races will take place Friday and Saturday with a track side beer garden. The Westwood Chile Fest celebrates the Hispanic-centric cultures that make up much of the Westwood neighborhood. If the aromas of the chile roaster are too intoxicating to resist, there will be a pepper-eating contest in which all contestants will compete in rounds until the last person is left standing. The Arvada Harvest Festival and Parade commemorate the history of the once primarily farming community of Arvada. The first festival in 1925 was a celebration of the first concrete road between Arvada and Denver. Now in its 93rd year, the festival will run from Friday to Sunday with a '60s theme. A parade is scheduled to step off at 9 a.m. Saturday. The Harvest Festival features food, carnival rides, games, a spelling bee, talent show, cow chip throw, 18 bands, garden harvest, kids zone, beer garden, car show, arts and crafts and much more.

Two days before the show, a severe sinus infection forced the singer to cancel and he vowed to make it up to Denver. In February 2018, Mars announced two shows at Pepsi Center set for this Saturday and Sunday with rising rapper Cardi B as his opener. Then in July, Cardi B had to leave the tour due to pregnancy.
