John Mayer's acoustic tour to stop at Denver arena

John Mayer has set a solo acoustic tour for spring.

DENVER — John Mayer is hitting the road solo.

The Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and guitarist announced a solo acoustic tour that will visit arenas across the United States this spring.

The tour kicks off Saturday, March 11, in Newark and will run through Friday, April 14, in Los Angeles.

The tour will make a stop in Colorado at Ball Arena in Denver on Monday, April 3.

Singer-songwriters Lizzy McAlpine, Alec Benjamin, and a special guest to be announced at a later time will open these concerts.

Mayer will be playing a full acoustic set including his hits “New Light,” “Gravity,” “Love on the Weekend,” “Heartbreak Warfare,” “Daughters,” “Waiting on the World to Change,” “Last Train Home,” and “Your Body Is a Wonderland.”

Tickets go on sale starting Friday, Feb. 3, at 9 a.m. at johnmayer.com.

Presales start Wednesday, Feb 1., at 9 a.m. and run through Thursday, Feb. 2, at 10 p.m. Fans can sign up to access presale tickets at johnmayer.com.

Two pairs of front-row tickets will be auctioned off for each show on the tour through charityauctionstoday.com. All proceeds from the ticket auctions will go to the Back To You Fund.

Home to the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche and Colorado Mammoth, Ball Arena opened in downtown Denver on Oct. 1, 1999, with a sold-out concert by Celine Dion. Formerly known as the Pepsi Center, the arena seats up to 20,000 for concerts and other events. Ball Arena hosts more than 250 events each year.
