MEET THE CREW!
DENISE PLANTE, HOST, RADIO PERSONALITY KOSI 101.1
I started my broadcast career at the age of 15 when I cracked the mic and said, “There’s a blue light special happening now in the kids dept.” Yes I knew I loved talking to the public while working at K-Mart. When I was 19 years old, I landed my first radio job at HOT 101 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. The station was still spinning records and I had to edit phone calls with a razor and blue tape. My radio friends will remember those good ol’ days.
From Hot AC to Country, I have worked in almost every genre of music. I’m now hosting the #1 radio show with women in Denver, middays on KOSI 101.1
My love for TV came when I had the opportunity to work with MTV during one of their spring break specials in Lake Havasu, definitely a crazy time. I continued radio and hosting TV commercials until I landed Colorado and Company almost 12 years ago. Over the years I have learned about every beauty treatment, mortgage and automobile driving around Colorado…..plus many other businesses, celebrities and charities. That’s probably one of the biggest perks hosting Colorado and Company, I meet the most amazing people. I also learn about events and products that I may have never learned about otherwise.
I’m very involved in the community, when I’m not chasing after my two teenage boys and husband of 21 years. You can see pictures of my family and events I host by connecting with my via social media @DenisePlante
I wake up every morning knowing I’m blessed to do what I love, radio and TV, and live where everyone in the country wants to live.
RISA FRISKEY, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
Channel 9 is my home! Starting in the 9News Promotions Department in 1988, I learned how to create captivating messages and support one of the best news products in the country. Within my first year I earned an Emmy and I knew I was in the right field! In 1996, motherhood came my way and I opted to take a break from full time work to develop my advertising, branding and parenting skills. In 2013, the call came to come back to Channel 9 and produce another leading show...Colorado & Company. My goal was then and is now to create television that informs, entertains and helps businesses, organizations and the great people of Colorado succeed! Thanks for watching!
JENNIFER HOLLIMAN, PRODUCER
A proud graduate from the University of Missouri-Columbia Journalism school, I worked in the broadcast television industry for the past 15 years and won several awards including the Edward R Murrow Award and DuPont Award for Excellence in Journalism. My experience ranges from schlepping a camera and tripod around as a one-man-band bureau reporter to waking up in the middle of the night to produce early morning newscasts. I even had a short stint in the Public Relations industry where I learned that PR is not all celebrities and store openings, but more setting up Christmas trees in shopping malls and chasing down stolen mobile billboards. Television is where my true passion lives..add marketing to that, and it's a perfect mix! One of my most incredible news memories was during my time on the WLOX-TV team...we stayed on the air during and after Hurricane Katrina despite suffering major damage to the television station's building. That experience earned me a special Emmy award for the documentary I co-produced "Katrina: South Mississippi's Story." Currently, I'm also Colorado & Company's social media queen so you'll probably see me on my phone quite often sharing all of the fun of CO&CO! When I'm not at work, I play "soccer mom" to daughter Kiley or walking my three very active dogs Lissa, Taffy and Charlie. MOSS CREMER, DIRECTOR/EDITOR/PHOTOGRAPHER
Moss is our director, editor, graphic designer and all-around “Go to Guy” for most of your Colorado & Company needs. He has been with the show since November of 2006.
Before that he produced the long-running, non-profit organization-friendly, show Colorado Profiles for KTVD Channel 20 (which is now the sister station of 9News).
In his younger days, Moss basked in the sun of the Caribbean as Manager of Production Services for St. Thomas/St. John Cable TV. But, alas, when Hurricane Marilyn hit the islands, that job dramatically ended.
Moss has had a hand in most all aspects of television/video production over the years; from shooting, writing and editing to set & lighting design, creating local news, documentaries and how-to videos.
“My goal with each episode of Colorado & Company is to make it as technically perfect as I can, so that our audience has an unobtrusive viewing experience to our clients products and services. Secondly, I strive to make the live television experience an exceptionally pleasant one for our in-studio guests and clients.”
