It’s a tradition that’s been happening northeast of Denver dating back to 1922! It's almost time for the Greeley Stampede.

The Greeley Stampede is a 501c4 nonprofit organization that works hard to give back to the community. In 2017, the Greeley Stampede donated more than 94-thousand dollars to the Stampede Foundation which supports higher education in Northern Colorado. Another 90-thousand dollars was also donated to schools, churches and organizations in the community.

The Stampede kicks off June 22 and runs through the Fourth of July. There are several new events this year including Brushes and Bulls June 25th which is an evening of painting, wine tasting and rodeo. Space is limited so register for the event by calling the ticket office at 970.356.7787.

Another new event is a cowboy themed obstacle course called the Cowboy Games. You don’t have to be a cowboy to participate. The Cowboy Games are designed to promote teamwork and physical fitness and to increase the general public’s knowledge of the skills and athleticism of the cowboy. Teams of five will compete to complete the obstacle course the fastest. Obstacles include crawling under and over livestock panels and hay stacks, hauling water buckets and building a round pen out of fence panels. Register online by this Friday, June 15. Registration fees benefit the Greeley Stampede Foundation to support education in Weld County and the winning team’s non-profit of choice.'

Country music is always center stage at the Greeley Stampede. This year’s SuperStars Concert Series line-up includes Darius Rucker, Dustin Lynch, Sublime with Rome, Aaron Watson and the Roots and Boots tour featuring Sammy Kershaw, Collin Raye and Aaron Tippin. Faith and Family night is Sunday, June 24th featuring Matthew West and Zach Williams.

The Greeley Stampede is known for its Rodeos. It has a top 25 PRCA Pro Rodeo series which includes Rodeos for a Cause Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night, Military Appreciation Night and Man-Up Crusade Night. There will also be an American Bull Fighting event and the PRCA Xtreme Bulls. The Stamped will also host a demolition derby on the 4th of July as well as an Independence Day parade.
There’s lots of fun for families at the Greeley Stampede. There’s a large area called the Kids Korral filled with family friendly entertainment including a petting zoo, balloon animals, lumberjacks and grizzly bears. There’s also the Innovation Station, sandbox, sheep stampede and more! It’s all included with admission to the park.

Don't miss out on this Colordo tradition! The 97th annual Greeley Stampede runs Friday, June 22 through the Fourth of July at the Island Grove Regional Park in Greeley! Get your tickets online now.
