What's Brewing for the weekend of Oct. 5-7

Here's a roundup of what's brewing in Denver for the weekend of Oct. 5-7.

Zombie Crawl

If you happen to be strolling along 16th Street Mall in downtown Denver, prepare to be ambushed by the undead. The 13th annual Zombie Crawl gets underway at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6 at Skyline Park.

Not sure how to make yourself look zombified? Never fear, makeup artists will be on hand to give you a ghoulish look and there will also be vendors to outfit you in the best zombie attire. Although, some old clothes and scissors will work too.

The free event also includes a costume contest, trivia and at 3 p.m., the zombies will recreate Michael Jackson’s iconic “Thriller” dance.

The 13th annual Denver Zombie Crawl will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at Skyline Park, at 1600 Arapahoe St.

Following the Zombie Crawl, you can can purchase a ticket for the first -ever Haunted Happy Hour to get fast past access to Denver’s 13th Floor Haunted House. Find links to the happy hour tour tickets and all the zombified info here.

The Big Wonderful

On Saturday and Sunday, Beerfest, bluegrass and an open market bazaar come together in RiNo's Globeville neighborhood.

The Big Wonderful is a cool urban market and festival featuring local vendors, craft beer and a stage with local music acts. General admission to the big wonderful is free. Tickets to Beerfest are $29 in advance or $35 at the door. Find all the fun at 4400 Fox St. in Denver.

Rockies vs. Brewers

Don’t forget to cheer on our Colorado Rockies this Sunday for their first playoff home game at Coors Field. The Rockies take on the Milwaukee Brewers at 2:37 p.m. Tickets are officially sold out, but sports bars around town will be busy showing the game…you can also try to find friends with season’s tickets for a seat? Last checked, re-sale tickets were going for about $100! Yikes. At those prices, I'll be cheering on the Rockies from the dugout of my couch!
