What's brewing in Denver July 13-15

Here's a round up of what's brewing in Denver for the weekend of July 13-15.

From free food to a weird and wacky county fair, we have you covered on what's brewing in and around Denver this weekend.

Colorado Irish Festival

Break out the bagpipes because the Colorado Irish Festival is gearing up for its 24th anniversary this year. The three-day celebration starts Friday at 5 p.m. and continues right through to Sunday. Held in the heather of Clement Park in Littleton – the festival includes Irish step dancing, music, sheep herding, a cultural village and even a traditional Irish breakfast. Oh, right, there might be the odd kilt or two! Tickets will be available at the gate. $14 for adults, $11 for students, seniors and active military personnel and kids 10 and under are free. Find details at ColoradoIrishFestival.com.

Slow Food Nations

Foodies, take note. Slow Food Nations returns to Larimer Square for its second year. The three-day festival begins Friday night and best of all, it’s free! On Saturday and Sunday, sample food from over 80 different exhibitors at the Taste Marketplace. There are also selected ticketed events, dinners and workshops devoted to sustainably sourced food and drink under the theme of “Food for Change”. The event is for all ages – and parents and kids are invited to check out free activities in the Family Pavilion. Find all the details at SlowFoodNations.org.

And finally, it’s wacky, it’s weird and it’s wonderfully fun. The Denver County Fair rolls into the National Western Complex this weekend. Whether you fancy events like cat shows or alpacas running obstacle courses - or just like carnival rides and food on a stick, the Denver County Fair has something for everyone! Tickets are only $10 for adults or $3 for kids 3 to 11. For more information, visit DenverCountyFair.org.
