On a day of sadness, we found something that inspired us.
Among the hundreds of people who attended the funeral for Colorado State Patrol Trooper Cody Donahue, there was Dan Brite. He's a detective from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
Brite was shot by an armed suspect in Parker in September. Police police stopped the gunman, after he was seen walking with a gun near Sierra Middle School. The man fired, hitting Brite.
The detective spent a month in the hospital before he was released.
Brite is still recovering, but "in the warrior spirit," as Chief Steve Johnson said, he made the effort to attend funeral. We'd say he looks great.
