Restaurant Week: Liberati brings a taste of Italy to Denver

Liberati located on Champa Street serves up Italian dishes and unique beer/wine hybrid beverages.

DENVER — All this week on 9NEWS mornings we're showcasing restaurants that are taking part in Denver Restaurant Week which runs through March 3.

You don't have to travel all the way to Italy to get an authentic Italian dinner.

Just about everything inside Liberati Osteria & Oenobeers located on Champa Street in Denver is Italian from the owner to the chefs, bakers, and equipment that they use to cook.

"We are Italians so we try to move our culture and our way of life, how we do we live in the states," said Marta Biasotti, the executive chef at the restaurant.

Of course, food is their focus, but there's a lot more to it than just that.

"I think that what we are trying to do with our customers is give them a trip around Italy," she said.

They also serve up unique beverages known as Oenobeer, which are a beer/wine hybrid with each beer using a different wine grape in its fermentation.

The staff takes pride in their menu and ability to showcase their Italian culture through food.

"Cooking is happiness in every moment," said Biasotti. "If I can create something for other people it makes me happy."

More than 240 restaurants will take part in Denver Restaurant Week this year making it one of the largest and most popular restaurant weeks in the country.

As has been the case in recent years, the pricing structure has three tiers: $25, $35 and $45.
