A list of Kentucky Derby 2019 watch parties across Colorado

COLORADO, USA — "The Run for the Roses" is the unofficial kickoff to summer!

The 145th running of the Kentucky Derby will take place Saturday, May 4 on 9NEWS with a post time of 4:50 p.m.

All around the world people tune in to experience the pageantry and beauty of our old Kentucky home. No matter if you're pulling for Omaha Beach, Roadster, Game Winner, Improbable or Maximum Security, you'll enjoy the fun and festive atmosphere of one of dozens of Derby watch parties taking place across Colorado:

Arvada

School House Kitchen and Libations - The 4th annual Kentucky Derby party at Arvada's School House Kitchen features food specials, live music, a DJ and plenty of mint juleps. The party starts at noon, so come dressed in your derby day best.

Boulder

St. Julien Hotel & Spa - Break out your derby hats as St. Julien Hoten & Spa celebrates the 145th “Run for the Roses” at their outside terrace and inside Great Room from 2 to 6 p.m. Admission is free and the first 100 guests will receive a complimentary mint julep.

Centennial

ViewHouse Centennial - Centennial’s ViewHouse location will have a derby party with live music from Steve Thomas Band after the race until 7 p.m.

Waters Edge Winery & Bistro - Waters Edge Winery on Arapahoe Road will host a Kentucky Derby Party with prizes, food, drinks and fun.

Colorado Springs

Axe and the Oak Whiskey House - The 3rd annual derby party at Axe and the Oak Whiskey House will have plenty of mint juleps as well as DJ Rocky Ross. 

Denver

54thirty - Denver’s 54thirty Rooftop will hold its 2nd annual Derby viewing party. The open-air rooftop party will feature multiple viewing screens, southern-inspired cocktails and best-dressed prizes. Tickets are available to purchase online.

The Bar Car - The Bar Car's 9th annual Kentucky Derby party takes place from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. with live music, hat competition, games, drink deals and more. For tickets, visit DenverBarCar.com.

TheBigWonderful - TheBigWonderful returns to Denver for their 6th annual Kentucky Derby weekend festival on May 4 and May 5. The festival features shopping from over 100 local makers, brews from over 15 breweries, plus Kentucky Derby and Cinco de Mayo dance parties. Denver Union Station - Denver Union Station’s huge Kentucky Derby party is free and open to the public. The party will have live music from Royal Street Ramblers and Half Pint & the Growlers, live Derby viewings throughout the station, a best-dressed competition and more.

Denver Mini Derby - The Denver Mini Derby is a Kentucky Derby viewing party with a twist. In addition to the viewing of the 145th Kentucky Derby, there will be a “mini race” with adorable mini horses trotting around Denver’s The North Green for charity. There will also be huge screens, live music and DJ, open bar and great food. Tickets can be purchased online.

Four Seasons Hotel - Denver’s Four Seasons Hotel will host an elegant, exclusive Derby viewing party on the hotel’s third floor rooftop and pool terrace. Space will be limited, so be sure to check availability here.

Julep Restaurant - After a successful first year, Julep's annual Kentucky Derby Party is back for a second year with bigger screens, space and prizes. What better place to celebrate the southern ritual than at Julep, a restaurant concept that gives nods to southern tradition, history, incredible food, and of course, the Mint Julep. ViewHouse Ballpark - Downtown Denver’s ViewHouse location will have a derby party with live music from Mose Jones Band beginning at 1 p.m.

Englewood

Englewood Tavern - Celebrate the pageantry of the Kentucky Derby at The Englewood Tavern with Kentucky-inspired drink specials, delicious food, live music, costume contest and more. 

Fort Collins

Sundance Steakhouse & Saloon - The Sundance Steakhouse & Saloon will hold a Derby watch party and hat parade beginning at 1 p.m.

Greeley

Greeley Philharmonic - The Greeley Philharmonic will hold its 10th annual Kentucky Derby Gala Dinner and Dance from 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Mason's Event Center in downtown Greeley. Purgatory Cellars - Purgatory Cellars in Highlands Ranch will host a Derby watch party from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Big hats get you 10% off!  

Littleton

ViewHouse Littleton - ViewHouse on Main Street will host its annual Kentucky Derby watch party with a special brunch menu, mint juleps and the Derby on the 160” indoor LED TV and dozens of flat screens.

Loveland

Loveland Aleworks - The Kentucky Derby Party at Loveland Aleworks will have discounted pints for people in "interesting and celebratory" hats.

Parker

Vines Wine Bar & Bistro - The Kentucky Derby party at Vines Wine Bar on Mainstreet begins at 2:30 p.m. with derby contests, prizes, giveaways, plus great food and drinks.
