Bird Rides Inc. has expanded its fleet of shared electric vehicles again, this time with a seated moped-like design.
In addition to enabling riders to sit rather than stand, the Bird Cruiser fits two people.
The new e-bike will roll out “in a few test markets” this summer as part of Bird’s global fleet of shared vehicles and to partners on the Bird Platform — a suite of technologies, products and services that will enable entrepreneurs to manage their own fleets of shared e-scooters.
“To further accelerate progress on our mission to make cities more livable, we are providing additional environmentally friendly micro-mobility alternatives —including Bird Cruiser,” said Bird founder and CEO Travis VanderZanden in a statement. “Designed and engineered in California, Bird Cruiser is an inclusive electric-powered option that is approachable, easy-to-ride and comfortable on rough roads."
