DENVER — If you planted bulbs last fall, they're probably emerging.
Potted bulbs that have had their winter chill in a cold basement room or garage should come outside. Bring them into the sun. They'll grow and bloom quickly.
If snow threatens, cover them or pull them inside. Bulbs in the ground can be covered with buckets or trashcans so the snow won't snap the flower stems off.
It's too late to plant tulips, daffodils or hyacinths. That needs to be done in the fall. You can purchase pots of bulbs at your local garden center soon. Enjoy them on the patio. When they finish blooming, plant them in the ground. They'll bloom again next spring.
