Proctor's Garden: June bloomers bust out

The wacky back and forth weather we've been having could actually be good for your garden.

DENVER — Recent rain plus heat equals an explosion of flowers.

Perennials listed below really stand out now. Only a few of them are readily available at nurseries, so you'll probably have to search online for sources for seeds or plants.

  • Double clematis 'Blue Light'
  • Bush clematis, Clematis recta
  • Bloody cranesbill, Geranium sanguineum
  • Meadow cranesbill, Geranium pratense
  • Geranium magnificum
  • Meadow sage, Salvia sylvestris
  • Cooking sage, Salvia officinalis
  • Clary sage, Salvia sclarea
  • Giant cow parsnip, Heracleum sphondylium
