Fergie, one of Boulder County Sheriff’s Office K9s, retired Monday after more than 500 deployments, the office's Facebook page said.

Fergie was born in March 2006 and started academy training in January 2009. She began patrolling the streets not long after, finding over an ounce of cocaine in a hidden compartment on her first narcotics search two months later in March.

Fergie tore her ACL and it slowly impacted her work performance, so she’s retired to the home of partner Deputy Kelly and family.
