Just in time for PrideFest, a rainbow crosswalk now spans the width of one of Denver's popular streets.
Months ago, Buffalo Exchange Colorado, the Baker Broadway Merchant Association and the Office of Councilman Jolon Clark joined together to propose a rainbow crosswalk be installed across a stretch of Broadway.
The colorful crosswalks span North Broadway at West Irvington Place, which is right by the Buffalo Exchange and Punch Bowl Social.
The crosswalk was installed using thermoplastic materials to create the permanent installation.
According to Broadway Rainbow Crosswalk's website, the "project is a visual demonstration
of the neighborhood's spirit of inclusiveness and support for the LGBTQIA+ community. "
Rainbow crosswalks were installed in Midtown Atlanta last summer, costing the Georgia city $196,000 to install. They will last 10 years.
