Opening dates at boat ramps at Colorado State Parks in 2020

More boat ramps at Colorado State Parks will open in the coming weeks.

LOVELAND, Colo. — Boyd Lake State Park kicked off the spring-summer season by opening its boat ramp at 8 a.m. on Friday, March 6, Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) announced.

CPW says more campground and boat ramp openings will be coming in the next few weeks at its Northeast Region parks and state wildlife areas.

Aquatic nuisance species (ANS) inspection station hours at Boyd Lake State Park will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. during March, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in April and 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. from May through the remainder of the summer.

  • Chatfield State Park
    • Boat ramps: No established opening date
  • Cherry Creek State Park
    • Boat ramps: March 13
  • Jackson Lake State Park
    • Boat ramp: March 15
    • Northern campgrounds: April 1
  • Jumbo Reservoir State Wildlife Area
    • Boat ramp: April 17
  • North Sterling State Park
    • Boat ramps: March 14
    • South campgrounds: March 27
    • Swim beach: May 15
  • St. Vrain State Park
    • Coot, Kestrel, and Pelican campgrounds: Now open

The price of a Daily Vehicle Park Pass increased by $1 at most state parks in 2020, effective March 1.

While the pass will be $9 for most state parks, a Daily Vehicle Park Pass will be $10 for Chatfield, Boyd Lake and Eldorado Canyon state parks, and $11 for Cherry Creek State Park in Aurora.

CPW said the price of an Annual Park Pass and Commercial Park Pass will remain unchanged in 2020.
