Colorado Ballet announces lineup for 63rd season

The five-production season will take place at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House.

DENVER — Colorado Ballet announced plans Thursday for its 63rd season.

"Swan Lake," "The Nutcracker," "Jekyll & Hyde," "Coppélia" and "Ballet MasterWorks" are the five productions planned for Colorado Ballet's 2023-24 season starting in October 2023.

Colorado Ballet opens a new season with eight performances of "Swan Lake" starting Oct. 6 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House.

"I am delighted to announce the five productions planned for Colorado Ballet’s 2023/2024 season at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House," said Colorado Ballet Artistic Director Gil Boggs. "Our current season of timeless stories has been a tremendous success, and we look forward to bringing even more world-class ballet to our community next season, starting in the fall with 'Swan Lake.'"

"I’m especially excited to bring back ballets from years past and to introduce new works to the company’s repertoire. From pure classical ballet to contemporary dance, to comedies, romances and horror, there’s somethin­g for everyone at Colorado Ballet in 2023/2024."

Swan Lake

  • Oct. 6 – Oct. 15, 2023
  •  An iconic romantic-classical ballet beloved worldwide.

The Nutcracker

  • Nov. 25 – Dec. 24, 2023
  • Featuring custom-made sets and costumes which debuted in 2021.

Jekyll & Hyde

  • Feb. 2 – Feb. 11, 2024
  • Denver premiere of the full-length ballet.

Coppélia

  • March 8 – March 17, 2024
  • Presented for the first time in 15 years.

Ballet MasterWorks

  • April 12 – April 21, 2024
  • Return of George Balanchine’s "Rubies" with music of Igor Stravinsky.

Colorado Ballet said additional information regarding season and single ticket sales will be available later this spring. Single tickets for the season will go on sale during the summer.
